Kitchen Toke Is Hiring An Assistant Editor
Kitchen Toke is looking for a highly organized provisional assistant editor to help with its fall 2020 issue. Candidates will have excellent language skills, scrupulous editing chops, laser focused proofreading abilities, fluency in AP-style, and a tight and lively writing voice. This person will work closely with the editor-in-chief to shepherd the issue into print. Duties will include writing, editing, proofreading, fact checking, reading layouts and entering corrections. This is a paid freelance opportunity that could lead to a permanent position for the right candidate, with opportunities to cultivate writers and stories, and contribute to the magazine’s overall vision.
Requirements:
*Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, media or related field.
*Strong editing and writing experience.
*Expertise in, and passion for cannabis, food and health and the ways they intersect.
*Ability to follow a strict deadline schedule
*Experience with Mac-based computing, Google web products, and InDesign
