Push through pain and stiffness with a crunchy, infused power snack
As if aches, pains and poor health aren’t bad enough, the discomfort can prevent the one thing that helps: exercise.
Here’s where cannabis—and CBD in particular—can change everything. A strategically selected dose consumed before, during or post-workout can provide just enough relief to carry you through to a more agile, comfortable day.
Derek Simcik likes toting a few handfuls of infused granola to the gym. His mix of choice combines pecans, cherries, oats, cacao nibs and coconut. “Aside from the protein-carb energy boost provided by the nuts and unrefined sugars, the infused coconut oil can ease inflammation and soreness during, between and after workouts,” says Simcik, executive chef of Seattle’s Thompson Hotel.
The crunchy snack will last several weeks in an airtight container, but popping it in the freezer extends its freshness up to a month. Break off a few days’ worth at a time and portion into single-servings.
